From the summit, commence the descent toward Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch. The trail is rocky and can be strenuous on the knees, but trekking poles provide assistance. Note: The Umbwe route offers a challenging and rewarding experience for experienced climbers seeking a more adventurous and less crowded route. Its steepness and limited acclimatization time require climbers to be physically fit and mentally prepared. Proper gear, including trekking poles and suitable clothing, is essential for a successful and safe ascent.
